Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has decided to provide 50 per cent posts to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Backward Classes (BC) and minorities in all government nominated posts. The state government is introducing a Bill for the same in the Assembly on July 12.

In his own Cabinet, the CM has provided around 60 per cent berths to ministries from the SC, ST, BC and minorities communities. He wants to apply this to all government nominated posts.

In the appointment of corporation chairmen, marketing committees, temple committees, and other nominated posts, 50 per cent seats will be given to candidates SCs, STs, BCs, and minorities communities.

Half of the 17 government pleaders' positions were given to SCs, STs, BCs and Minorities. The same formula will be applied in the appointment of standing councils and assistant government pleaders.

Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy has decided to appoint corporation chairmen after introducing the bill. He has asked officials to prepare a list of the various government nominated positions.

Meanwhile, the state government has decided to amend the AP Infrastructure Deve-lopment Enabling Act. Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy has decided to review all tenders and, if necessary, then to go for reverse tenders. The amendment bill will enable the government to cancel tenders or go for reverse tendering of the various contracts that the previous Telugu Desam government signed with the Singapore company for the construction of Andhra Pradesh's capital city Amaravati.

Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy has already announced the constitution of the Judicial Commission for the scrutiny of tenders. This issue will be incorporated in the Act.
