J.P. Nadda Says YSRC has Flooded AP with Scams

ANANTAPUR: Sending signals that Bharatiya Janata Party is firm on ensuring that lotus blossoms in AP, BJP national president J.P. Nadda accused the YSRC government of being mired in large-scale corruption. In support of his charge, he referred to the mining, liquor, sand and educational-related scams.

Addressing a public meeting at Srikalahasti in Tirupati district on Saturday to mark completion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s successful nine-year rule, Nadda declared that Andhra Pradesh is currently witnessing widespread corruption, which is unprecedented in the country.

The BJP president said the biggest disappointment is AP’s capital Amaravati, for which Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone in 2014. Further, he maintained that the Union government approved multiple projects for Andhra Pradesh.

“Forget the projects, Jagan Mohan Reddy government has failed to establish the capital city for Andhra Pradesh in the past four years. How can there be a state without a capital,” Nadda asked.

He pointed out that farmers, who had sacrificed their lands for the capital, are not happy. People of the state are scared as there is no law and order in the state.

The BJP president said while the Prime Minister believes in transparency, AP Chief Minister is busy making money through his corrupt activities.

“Lotus must blossom in the state for better governance in Andhra Pradesh. I appeal to people that they bless BJP, seeing the good development brought in by Narendra Modi in India,” he underlined.

Nadda maintained that while developed countries are facing severe economic crises, India is on the growth path. It has emerged as the 5th best economy in the world from the 10th place earlier. He said India has turned an exporter of mobile phones, including Apple, whose production will soon start in India.

The BJP president praised PM Modi's governance, citing ongoing projects, such as transformation of Tirupati railway station into a world-class facility with a budget of ₹325 crore. Additionally, he highlighted establishment of IIT and IISER campuses in Srikalahasti constituency, apart from implementation of development works worth ₹10,500 crore in Visakhapatnam.

Several national and state-level BJP leaders were present at the meeting, including Sunil Deodhar, D. Purandeswari, N. Kiran Kumar Reddy, G.V.L. Narasimha Rao, Sujana Chowdary, C.M. Ramesh, T.G. Venkatesh, Vakati Narayana Reddy, Vishnu Vardhan Reddy, Kola Anand, Sannareddy Dayakar Reddy, Y. Satya Kumar, G. Bhanuprakash Reddy, Samanchi Srinivas, Varaprasad and K. Ajay Kumar.

Significantly, the BJP national president began his day-long visit of Tirupati on Saturday by offering prayers at Lord Venkateswara Swamy Temple in Tirumala in the morning. He received the traditional welcome from priests, who offered him prasadam at the Ranganayaka Mandapam.
