Rajya Sabha seat: Rahul Gandhi seeks report as plaints galore
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Congress president Rahul Gandhi has asked AICC in charge of Kerala Mukul Wasnik to submit a detailed report on the events leading to the decision to grant Rajya Sabha seat to Kerala Congress. The Congress president directive comes in the wake of flurry of complaints received by the high command from the leaders and party workers from the state against the decision. The Congress workers had also targeted Wasnik accusing him of surrendering to the pressure of former chief minister Oommen Chandy, opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala and KPCC president M.M. Hassan.
The AICC in charge could not gauge the feelings of the workers on the ground. A section of leaders including MPs from Kerala is learnt to have complained to the high command that Wasnik failed to read the writing on the wall and alert the Congress president about the deal. The high command is particularly annoyed over the growing protests in different parts of the state.
