GVL seeks improved facilities at CGHS health centres in Visakhapatnam

Vijayawada: BJP MP G.V.L. Narasimha Rao called for improved facilities at wellness centres under the ambit of the Centre’s health schemes and also for setting up an office of additional director in Visakhapatnam people’s benefit.

The MP met Union minister for health and family welfare Mansukh L. Mandaviya on Monday in New Delhi and sought his intervention to address the issues raised by him several times and also submitted a representation in this regard. Accordingly, Mandaviya assured efforts to improve facilities at the CGHS health centres.

Rao said currently, there were two CGHS wellness centres in Visakhapatnam with basic facilities and felt the need to upgrade buildings and infrastructure. He asked for funds to be released to purchase land to construct buildings for the wellness centres. He also sought the sanction of one more wellness centre, preferably in Gajuwaka industrial area of Visakhapatnam district.

The MP expressed surprise at the lack of a CGHS headquarters in the state even after its bifurcation and sought for an office of additional director, CGHS in the city.

Rao expressed confidence that the Centre would resolve these issues for the sake of central government employees working in Visakhapatnam.
