‘Coverts’ working in Congress: V Hanumantha Rao

Mr Rao alleged that the party was discriminating against loyalists.

Hyderabad: AICC secretary and former MP V. Hanumantha Rao has alleged the state Congress has some ‘covert’ (secret agents), whom he will name at the appropriate time. These coverts were leaking information of the goings on in Gandhi Bhavan to Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, he said.

Speaking to mediapersons, Mr Hanumantha Rao said he did not know why TPCC president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy was not taking action on the coverts. He said if they were not removed, the Congress would be affected.

Mr Rao alleged that the party was discriminating against loyalists. During the elections, the Congress had suspended some loyalists but was being biased when revoking the action.

He said the Congress was giving more importance to those who joined from other parties while ignoring loyalists. Some Congress leaders were working on a policy that YSRC president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy should become Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh and Mr Rao should continue in the state.
