Winning Tiruttani is prestigious for BJP

Bollineni Munuswamy Naidu assures to industrialise Tiruttani besides develop it as heritage town.

Chennai: His suave nature and spontaneous propensity to serve has won the appreciation of many in his constituency. For M. Chakravarthy, BJP state vice president and grandson of Madras Presidency Chief Minister Bollineni Munuswamy Naidu, winning the Tiruttani Assembly constituency has become prestigious. He assures to industrialise Tiruttani besides develop it as heritage town.

“You need no introduction about me. My family and I have been fulfilling your needs and if you elect me as your MLA I will ensure Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s good schemes reach your homes,” Mr Chakravarthy appeals as he hops from one village to another in the hot sun. This well known hotelier had ensured jobs in the hospitality sector to over 2,000 persons from this native constituency of his.

He is also instrumental in establishing in establishing old age home to accommodate 300 people and provides the inmates with food and clothing for free. Mr Chakravarthy had built buildings for two schools besides providing benches and chairs, constructed bridges, check dams, laid roads for Tiruttani and ensured double lanes from Ponpadi at his own expense.

The sub station which he helped to be established had addressed the power needs of the people besides preventing the agriculture motors from getting gutted. He had also built Hanuman temple and provides free Annadhanam daily. He had also established two free medical centres to serve poor and needy.

He banks heavily on his personal contribution and Modi’s dynamism and pro-development initiatives and being a Telugu himself he hopes the Telugu voters who account for about 93,000 in the constituency would solidly voter for him. Mr Chakravarthy’s father P. Sriramulu Naidu had been the Chairman of Tiruttani Union for 20 years in a row.

The Tiruttani Assembly constituency has an electorate strength of 2.83 lakh and comprises the famous pilgrim centre of Tiruttani where the Murugan Temple — one of the six abodes of Lord Muruga is situated, R.K. Pet, Pallipattu and Thiruvilangadu areas.

Here Chakravarthy is pitted against P.M. Narasimhan of AIADMK candidate, BSP’s S. Jaibaskaran, Congress’ A.G. Chidambaram, PMK’s A. Vaithilingam and DMDK’s D. Krishnamurthy. Naam Tamilar Katchi’s S. Prabhu and nine independents are also in the fray.
