Kottayam: Kottayam district police chief K. Satheesh Bino has started an investigation into the speech of SNDP Union general secretary Vellapally Natesan that personally attacked Peerumedu MLA Ms. E.S. Bijimol. Mr. Bino has also collected the video footage of the speech.
Mr. Natesan made the controversial speech at the CSI parish hall at Mundakayam while inaugurating the loan distribution of SNDP's micro-finance project on Saturday.
He said that Mr. Bijimol was mad and if there were no laws protecting woman, she would have been beaten to death and thrown down a ravine. What angered Mr Natesan was the distribution of a notice among the public by Ms Bijimol alleging irregularities in the micro-finance scheme.
