Jagan protest for special tag today

Kakinada urban and Kakinada rural leaders should pay attention about luring people to the agitation, he said.

Kakinada: YSRC chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy is staging an agitation in front of Collector's office at Ka-kinada on May 10, dem-anding the Union Government for special status for the state.

Party district leaders, led by its district president Kurasala Kanna-babu, are making hectic efforts to make the agitation a success. Pilli Subashchandra Bose, MLC and YSRC le-ader, said that a huge number of people will attend the agitation as people are keen on special status and are expressing anger over state and central governments’ approach on the issue.

However, owing to soaring temperatures, Kakinada urban and Kakinada rural leaders should pay attention about luring people to the agitation, he said.

Kannababu said people in every constituency are evincing interest in participating in the agitation as they felt that they were being cheated by BJP and the ruling TD on the issue. He said that though the special status issue has been placed in AP Reorganisation Act, Pr-ime Minister Nare-ndra Modi and the chief minister N. Chandrababu Na-idu have kept aside the issue.

Meanwhile, Kakinada MLA Vanamadi Venkat-eswara Rao (Kondababu) called upon the people not to attend the YSRC's agitation for special status issue.
He told the reporters that Jagan was not beli-evable and trust worthy leader in politics and that's why the MLAs of the party were joining TD.

AP can thrive without SCS: Ashok Babu
AP Non-Gazetted Officers Organisation state president P. Ashok Babu on Monday said that AP does not need Special Category Status, but the multi-purpose Polavaram project should be completed as early as possible.

Speaking during his visit to Kakinada to meet deputy commissioner of commercial taxes, Mr Ashok Babu said that AP will have no use for such a tag, but the Polavaram project would help farmers, provide water to industries and make the state prosperous.

He said that all the state's power needs would be met once Polavaram project is completed and 'Special Status' had become merely an agenda for political parties.
