TRS is bowing under MIM’s pressure: BJP

He said the BJP would play the role of the Opposition and criticised the Congress for the defection of its MLAs and MLCs into the tRS.

Hyderabad: The BJP’s Secunderabad candidate G. Kishan Reddy on Tuesday accused the TRS of handing over its car steering to the MIM and said they would not be able to make any impact at the Centre with 16 Lok Sabha seats.

Mr Reddy, participating in a ‘Meet the Press’ programme, asked what impact the TRS had made in the previous Lok Sabha with 15 MPs, and how it could play a key role with 17 members.

The TRS winning 16 seats would not affect the BJP. Hence, party chief K. Chandrasekhar Rao’s slogan of gulabi or ghulam [pink (TRS) or slavery] does not make sense, Mr Kishan Reddy said.

Mr Reddy said states like Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Karnataka and West Bengal had become “private companies” for certain individuals.

“Even though there is no scope for a Federal Front since the BJP will get absolute majority, hypothetically who will be come PM? KCR? Mamata? Jagan? Mayawati? There only one vacancy and people have already decided elect Narendra Modi as PM", he said. The state government was unnecessarily blaming the Centre for not funding its welfare schemes. The Centre had financial constrains and cannot fund every scheme planned by the TRS government, he said. He said Mr Chandrasekhar Rao had failed to explain the advantages of setting ip a turmeric board in Nizamabad. He said that the state should come with a comprehensive plan rather than attacking the Centre.

He said the BJP would play the role of the Opposition and criticised the Congress for the defection of its MLAs and MLCs into the tRS.

On the 12 per cent Muslim quota, Mr Reddy said that since reservations cannot be given on the basis on religion the Centre had given 10 per cent reservation on basis of economic background.

Mr Reddy said he would enhance the brand image of Hyderabad and not let down the people who voted for him. He asked for a vote on his track record.
