Time to give women their rightful place in politics, says Krishna Byregowda

He said that it will be an honour and privilege for him to serve in Parliament.

Bengaluru: Bengaluru North Congress candidate Krishna Byregowda said that time has come to give women their rightful place in politics.

At B.PAC's 'Citizens Meet Candidates', he said, “The time has come to give their rightful place and we will make it happen. Low voter turnout is a blot on the educated literate city. On low voter turnout, I would say that the civil society like B.PAC must educate people in large numbers and help solve the problem. The solution should come from the civic society.”

On the issue of women safety, he said, “It is a nationwide issue and compared to other cities, Bengaluru is not what the media has portrayed. In one or two incidents, investigation revealed it was something else. Having said that, we must try to make society safe.”

He said that it will be an honour and privilege for him to serve in Parliament. To a question on terrorism, he said that unfortunately, articulation on incidents of terrorism, political parties have collectively failed.
