Thomas Isaac lists projects of KIIFB, slams oppositions

The campaign has been launched in the wake of opposition UDF making KIIFB and Masala bond an election issue by linking it with SNC Lavalin.

Thiruvananthapuram: Finance Minister Thomas Isaac has taken to social media to defend KIIFB. To disprove his detractors, the minister has posted pictures of the works that are being under taken under his pet project. "KIIFB is not a divine dream but a reality before your eyes" campaign is receiving good support on the social media.

The campaign has been launched in the wake of opposition UDF making KIIFB and Masala bond an election issue by linking it with SNC Lavalin.

Some of the video footage posted on the finance minister's Facebook page include projects; six-lane flyover at Vyttila under KIIFB at a cost of 86.34 crore. It will be hugely beneficial as it links national highway 66 Palarivattom - Kottayam road (length 717 meters).

Cherthala Thaneermukkom road 12.80 crore , 4500 high tech class rooms, Rs 5 cr each to 140 schools , Rs 3 crore each to 229 schools and Rs 36 rore for cleaning of Alappuzha canals are some of the major projects under KIIFB which have been showcased on the social media. The footage also contains reactions of the local people about the benefits of these projects.

Isaac said the statements made by opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala and other Congress leaders on KIIFB bond clearly proved their utter ignorance about the issue. He charged a section of media of running a misinformation campaign.

He said attempts were being made to shoo away the investors who had been attracted to invest in the state following the earnest efforts made by the government. The opposition is causing a body blow to the development aspirations of the state and they should desist from the anti-national act.

Isaac said Shibu Baby John and the opposition leader had raised allegations regarding commission taken for masala bond. Raising resources from international market is not like the commission based trade that took place during UDF regime.
