Telangana has more first-time voters than AP

Thirty-one districts are scheduled to go to polls on April 11 elections which is the first phase of general elections.

Hyderabad: The Telangana state is going to witness 5,99,933 first-time electors in the age group of 18 to 19 years while the total number of voters is 2,95,30,838 for the 17 parliamentary constituencies.

Of the 17 constituencies, three are reserved for Scheduled Castes (SC) and two for Scheduled Tribes (ST). A total of 34,603 polling stations have been set up across the state.

As per the data from the National Election Planner, the state has a total of 2,95,30,838 electors, out of which 1,48,42,582 are men, 1,46,74,217 are women and 2,089 are from third gender.

Of the total electors,10,823 are service electors and 1,127 are overseas Indian electors.

Andhra Pradesh has 5,39,804 first-time electors. With this, the total number of electors combined together has increased by 12,58,015 (1.94 per cent) since the 2014 elections.
