Belagavi: Quipping that AICC president Rahul Gandhi has hit the final nail the Congress coffin by backing Chief Minister Siddaramaiah for the CM post again, JD(S) state president H.D. Kumaraswamy said Mr Gandhi's statement has made it clear that the Congress party is set to lose the coming election.
He suggested that Siddaramaiah ‘consult a suitable doctor’ as he had not only lost his memory but had also started behaving childishly. “Siddaramaiah claims he is the only CM in the state to have waived farmer loans but people are aware that farmer loans were first written off by H.D. Deve Gowda when he was CM. Later I too waived farmers loans when I was CM. Siddaramaiah should recall the past developments. I have written a letter to him in this connection,'' he said.
On Vijayapura politics, he blamed local leaders for the loss of the JD(S) in Vijayapura in the last assembly election and said his party would win six of the eight seats in the district this time.
The JD(S)- state president also said that the wife of dead DySP of Chikkamagaluru Sub-Division Kallappa Handibag would have committed suicide if he had not helped her get a good government job. Handibag had committed suicide under pressure and his family had been in a critical state with no one to support them financially.
