Land pooling beyond necessity is an offence: Digvijay Singh
Vijayawada: AICC general secretary Digvijay Singh on Sunday criticised AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for encouraging defections. He said Mr Naidu had made a mistake by inducting defector legislators into his Cabinet.
Mr Singh alleged that high level corruption was in vogue in AP, and Mr Chandrababu Naidu was supporting packages instead of special category status to Andhara Pradesh for ”commissions”.
He alleged that Mr Chandrababu Naidu and Union minister M. Venkaiah Naidu had “cheated” the on public on special category status to AP.
Speaking with the media at the party office, Mr Singh asked why YSRC president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy was not criticising PM Narendra Modi.
Mr Singh also pointed that the land pooling and acquisition made by the TD government was an economic offence; more land than was required had been acquired from farmers. He alleged that the Chief Minister was “selling the land” pooled for the capital city.
He said the Chief Minister who had promised employment opportunities to the jobless had inducted his son Lokesh into the Cabinet “through the back door as MLC”
At Andhra Ratna Bhavan, Mr Singh cut a cake to mark the completion 14 years ago of the Praja Prastanam padayatra of YSR.
Congress MP K.V.P. Ramachandra Rao while speaking to media said the special package had led “to an increase in the properties of the Chief Minister”. He spoke about his private member’s bill on special category status that would be coming up in the Rajya Sabha for discussion on April 12.
