YSRC, TD have no right to seek votes in MLC elections: BJP chief Somu

Tirupati: BJP state president Somu Veerraju has said the ruling YSR Congress and the main opposition Telugu Desam had no right to seek votes for the MLC polls.

Speaking to the media at Venkatagiri on Friday, Veerraju said the YSRC, which got a resolution passed for abolition of the Legislative Council, will lose the MLC poll due to the strong “anti-incumbency” sentiment among the people.

The TD, known for its backstabbing politics, was not in the reckoning of the people anymore, he claimed.

He said the BJP was moving ahead with a concrete plan to win the three MLC seats. "We have been campaigning for implementation of the Centre's development and welfare schemes.”

Veerraju said the government employees were set against the YSRC. "They are not receiving their salaries on time. They have never been in a worse scenario,” he said.
