Pattoor Land: Jacob Thomas goes in appeal to CVC

Mr. Thomas also said that many vigilance probes were affected owing to unnecessary interventions of courts.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Suspended IPS officer Jacob Thomas has petitioned the chief vigilance commissioner against two High Court judges and the Lok Ayukta in connection with the Pattoor land encroachment case.

In a petition sent to the CVC, Mr. Thomas demanded a probe into the circumstances in which justice P. Ubaid and justice Abraham Mathew as well as Lok Ayukta Pius C. Kuriakose made adverse observations against him in connection with the Pattoor case. He also alleged a conspiracy against him for his fight against corruption.

In the petition filed through the chief secretary, Mr. Thomas also said that the corrupt might have misled the court, which led to the adverse comments against him.

He also said that the prosecutors seem to be sabotaging many cases involving influential persons and hence reinvestigation into many such cases were required. He he had even received petitions against the Lok Ayukta while serving as vigilance director and had forwarded them to government. He said he had sufficient evidence to prove the allegations he had raised.

Mr. Thomas also said that many vigilance probes were affected owing to unnecessary interventions of courts. He listed the bar bribery case, nepotism case against E.P. Jayarajan and cases in connection with the school youth festival as instances of him being targeted.
