Chennai: The rally to be addressed by DMDK leader Vijayakanth’s wife Premalatha on Thursday will be in focus as it comes amidst speculation of a meeting of the actor with DMK chief M. Karunanidhi on Friday (March 11).
Premalatha will be the key speaker at the DMDK women’s wing meeting to celebrate International Women’s Day. She is known to attack both AIADMK and DMK in her speeches.
It remains to be seen if she continues her tirade against the DMK and refrains from attacking the Dravidian major. She also has the option of keeping away from politics totally.
If she skips attacks on DMK, it will add fuel to the speculations of a Karunanidhi-Vijayakanth meeting on March 11. On the contrary, a lashing at the DMK by Premalatha will dim the possibility of an immediate meeting.
DMK organising secretary T.K.S. Elangovan said such a meeting had not been confirmed till now. The top functionaries of the DMDK too asserted that they are unaware of any such meeting on March 11. They also said as the elections are two months away, the Captain has enough time till March fourth week to negotiate a deal.
