Jagan's padayatra lacks sanctity: Chandrababu Naidu
Nellore: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said that YSRC chief Jagan Mohan Reddy’s padayatra lacks sanctity unlike his padayatra in the past. Maintaining that walking for 8 kilometers per day with breaks every week cannot be called a padayatra, he said that he found a place in the hearts of people by walking even when he was sick during his padayatra. Yatras without commitment and sincerity were useless, he said.
He made these observations while speaking to media persons after unveiling a pylon for Ramayapatnam Port at Ravur village in Prakasam district on Wednesday.
Mr Naidu also found fault with the Centre for handing over the case against the attack on Jagan at Visakapatnam airport to the NIA, alleging that it was interference of the Centre in state affairs and there was urgent need for discussion on the issue.
Mr Naidu ridiculed Prime Minister Narendra Modi for using the NIA, pointing to his opposition to the Act in the past. “They may file a case against me on the plea that I have beaten someone,” the CM said, taking a jibe at the Centre. Welcoming reservations for poor among the forward castes, he demanded to know the reasons for not accepting reservations for Muslims in Telangana.
He said that he was continuing his efforts to bring all parties opposing the BJP onto a platform. Earlier while addressing a public meeting at Ravur, Mr Naidu said that the Apex Court move to reinstate CBI director Alok Varma was a slap on the face for Narendra Modi. He accused the Centre for ignoring their recommendation to give 5 per cent reservation to Kapus and inclusion of Valmikis in the ST list. He said he would lay the foundation stone for an airport for Nellore district at Dagadarthi on January 11 and inaugurate the first car coming out of Kia Motors at Anantapur on January 29.
Referring to hurdles to set up Ramayapatnam Port because of Krishnapatnam Port in the vicinity, he said that the chairman of Krishnapatnam Port Mr Visweswar Rao had agreed for the project after he convinced him.
