Dr G Parameshwar to Yogi Adityanath: Control yourself

KPCC chief says it's not proper to comment on another state government.

Bengaluru: Hitting out at Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for his comments on the state government during his recent visit to Karnataka, KPCC chief, Dr G Parameshwar on Tuesday advised him to "have control over his tongue" when addressing a public gathering.

Speaking to reporters here, he accused the UP CM of making baseless allegations against the government at the BJP's Parivarthana Rally in the city on Sunday. "The Chief Minister of any state must speak about the achievements of his or her government, party ideology and so on, but not about the administration of another state. It is not only un-Constitutional, but also unwarranted," he asserted, adding, "Comments can be made in the form of a suggestion to any government, but they should not be given political colour to instigate the people."

Objecting to Mr Adityanath's references to the food habits of CM Siddaramaiah, he said he was only pushing the BJP's communal agenda in Karnataka by doing so.

" BJP leaders are misleading people on the issues of cow slaughter and beef eating. The UP CM accused the Congress of practicing soft Hindutva. Does that mean the BJP is practicing hard Hindutva? The saffron leaders have also commented on Congress president, Rahul Gandhi going to temples during his election campaign in Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh. But what's wrong with that? Even former Prime Ministers Jawaharlal Nehru and Indira Gandhi went to temples. Is it a sin for Congress leaders to go to temples?" he asked.

Dr Parameshwar also came down hard on the BJP for taking its communal agenda forward in the coastal districts.
