After MT Vasudevan Nair, BJP targets Kamal

At a press conference here on Monday, he said that Kamal was still confused about honouring the national anthem.

Kozhikode: After Jnanpith laureate M.T. Vasudevan Nair, now it is the turn of Kerala Chalachitra Academy chairman Kamal to face criticism from BJP state general secretary A.N. Radhakrishnan.

At a press conference here on Monday, he said that Kamal was still confused about honouring the national anthem.

“If he does not wish to live in India, he should leave the country,” Mr Radhakrishnan said.

“Kamal associates with terrorist organisations like SDPI. What is his qualification to be the Chalachitra Academy chairman? The only qualification Pinarayi (Vijayan) sees in him is that he called Narendra Modi a man-eater.”

However, Kamal said he does not want to react to such fulminations.

“I never called the prime minister a ‘man-eater’. I don’t know why they (the BJP) are waging such a campaign against me. I am not that cheap to react to these crazy pranks,” said the director.

Mr Radhakrishnan also criticised hanging Che Guevara's photographs here. “Youngsters are being misled. Che can not be placed along with Mother Teresa, Gandhiji and Vivekananda. He should find a line-up among Hitler, Mussolini and Stalin,” he said.
