YSRC has concern only for sand smugglers, not farmers: Naidu

Vijayawada: Telugu Desam chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu has wondered 'How Jagan Reddy can establish three capitals when he can't even maintain the gates of Gundlakamma project properly?'

He was speaking after visiting Cyclone Michaung-hit areas in Guntur district and addressed the public in Cherukuru. He criticised the state government for neglecting the plight of farmers during such a major disaster. He decried the Chief Minister’s failure to provide bags to farmers for storing grains.

Asserting that Jagan Reddy knew nothing about agriculture, Naidu claimed that four farmers had died by suicide on Friday. He claimed that the TD government distributed water to farmers through the Pattiseema lift irrigation project but Reddy doesn't understand the value of water. Castigating the deplorable condition of roads across the state, he slammed the state government for neglecting the drainage system.

Naidu criticised the government for not maintaining Gundlakamma project gates.

Stating that YSRC leaders don't have as much concern for farmers as they do for sand smugglers, he expressed concern that two TMC from the Gundlakamma project water had gone into the sea as the dam’s gate was washed away. Saying that farmers of the state have become victims of the arrogance of one person, he lamented that they were not even alerted about Cyclone Michaung.

Assuring to take the responsibility of helping farmers once the TD-Jana Sena alliance forms the government, he called upon the people to unite and fight against the anarchic YSRC government.
