Chief Minister Revanth Reddy Sworn in as MLA in Telangana Assembly

Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, and AIMIM MLA Akbarudin Owaisi in the inaugural session

Hyderabad: The first session of the Third Telangana Legislative Assembly commenced with the oath-taking ceremony for newly-elected MLAs. Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka took their oaths as MLAs.

Chief Minister Reddy retained Municipal Administration, Urban Development, General Administration, and Law & Order, along with unallocated portfolios.

All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) MLA Akbarudin Owaisi took oath as Protem Speaker of the assembly.

Before the commencement of the session, Owaisi was administered the oath by Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan as the pro-tem Speaker at Raj Bhavan.

Meanwhile, the BJP decided to boycott the oath-taking event, alleging a violation of Assembly rules in the appointment of Akbaruddin Owaisi as pro-tem Speaker.
