Mangaluru: Supremely confident that his party will win more than the seven seats required for a clear majority in the state assembly, Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa on Sunday declared that the unstable environment in the state will end on Monday with the BJP winning at least 13 seats in the byelections.
Mr Yediyurappa also said the BJP will provide a development oriented government for the next three and half years.
He was in Ujire to lay the foundation stone for about 818 works costing Rs 338 crore related to Belthangady taluk.
“All are keen on tomorrow's results. We will win at least 13 seats tomorrow. At the most JD(S) and Congress may win one seat each. With this the instability in the state will end. With the blessings of Lord Manjunatha and the people, for the next three and a half years, we will provide a development oriented government,” he said to huge applause from all around.
“My dream is to make Karnataka a model state in the next three-and-a-half years. I assure you that I will complete the works that the MLAs want me to. By completing all this, I am determined to win at least 150 seats in the next elections,” Yediyurappa declared.
The chief minister declared a new Kaniyoor Hobli for Belthangady taluk and assured all necessary assistance for the Endosulfan victims. “We had provided help for Endosulfan victims earlier. If more help is needed we are ready to provide it,” he declared.
Expressing concern over the death of three labourers at Odiyoor on Saturday, the CM said that he had directed the DC to provide Rs 3 lakh each for the kin of the deceased and Rs 1 lakh for the injured. The money will be provided from the Chief Minister’s relief fund.
Assuring help to farmers of Belthangady taluk, Yediyurappa declared construction of vented dams under the ‘Paschmia Vahini’, project. The Chief Minister praised MLA Harish Poonja for his service during the landslides and flood in Belthangady and also thanked the volunteers and public for their help.
Mr Yediyurappa landed at the helipad in Dharmasthala and offered prayers to Lord Manjunatha. "I have prayed to Lord Manjunatha for the the prosperity of people in the state and to give me strength to provide a stable government,” Yediyurappa told reporters.
