Adilabad: Election day saw Adivasi power come to the fore
Adilabad: The Adivasis have showed more respect for their votes than the people in urban areas and this was reflected with the polling percentage recorded in the ST constituencies.
The polling percentage touched 92 percent in some polling booths located in agency areas in Neredigonda mandal in Boath Assembly constituency.
Polling percentage between 80-85 was recorded in most polling booths in the Agency areas in the old Adilabad district in Thalamadugu and Bheempur mandals in Boath constituency and same was the case with the Asifabad and Khanapur Assembly constituencies.
Adilabad constituency registered 81.64 percent of voting while Boath in Adilabad district recorded 85.29 percent. The polling percentage was highest in booths in the tribal areas when compared to plain and urban areas in the Adilabad district.
Khanapur is reserved for STs and voters turned up at the polling booths in large numbers and recorded 78.42 polling percentage.
