Congress calls ex-leaders back
Vijayawada: AP Congress Committee vice-president Dr N. Thulasi Reddy called former Congress leaders to re-join the Congress party. He alleged that YSR Congress president and opposition leader Mr Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy had supported TRS in the Telangana elections. He appealed to the Congress leaders who had joined YSRC to note the dual standards of Mr Reddy and asked them to re-join Congress party which adhered to SCS and the fulfilment of bifurcation assurances.
Addressing a press meet in the AP State Congress office at Andhra Ratna Bhavan at Vijayawada on Saturday, Mr Thulasi Reddy alleged that Mr Reddy demanded SCS and even provoked the public about this but never tried to question BJP about SCS and its cheating of AP with regard to the fulfilment of bifurcation assurances. He further alleged that TRS spewed venom in front of the Andhra public but Mr Reddy supported TRS for political benefits which showed his dual standards.
He further alleged that due to the hidden pact with TRS, Mr Reddy did not field candidates from YSRC in the Telangana elections. Mr Thulasi Reddy alleged that Telangana Chief Minister Mr K. Chandrasekhar Rao had abused the late CM of united AP State Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy in public at Wanaparthy but Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy did not object to the abuse.
Mr Thulasi Reddy said that YSRC leader Siva Kumar who got angry over the abuse asked YSRC cadres to vote for the Congress party in the Telangana elections but Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy expelled Siva Kumar from YSRC in his effort to support TRS. Mr Thulasi Reddy appealed to the Congress leaders who joined the YSRC to recognise the double standards of Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy and asked them to come back to the Congress party which was capable of giving SCS and fulfilment of bifurcation assurances.
