All eyes on Telangana poll results
Vijayawada: Andhrites are eagerly waiting for Telangana election results. Betting has increased in Andhra Pradesh, after the announcement of Poll survey by former MP Lagadapati Rajagopal.
Majority of the exit polls predicted victory to TRS. Hence, people who were interested in betting put huge money on the TRS, but the scene changed with the announcement of exit poll results by Rajagopal. The punters, who earlier bet on the victory of TRS, further put money on the victory of Prajakutami, as a precaution.
According to the reports, crores of money were put in betting by AP people for Telangana elections and the betting is reportedly operated from Hyderabad.
The Telugu Desam leaders, who camped in various Assembly Constituencies in Telangana, have been campaigning in support of the TD candidates. They are happy over Rajagopal’s exit poll results and are eagerly waiting for the results.
According to the sources, punters directly betting with organisers and some others have been putting money on betting through sub-agents.
A punter, on the condition of anonymity, said that majority of the people are betting that TRS will win 61 seats and Prajakutami will win 50-60 seats.
He said that earlier bookies used to pay 50 per cent extra on the betting amount for the winners, but now bookies have been offering 100 per cent extra. Hence, people from Andhra, mainly from Vijayawada, Guntur, Eluru, Visakhapatnam, Nellore and other areas have been putting lakhs of the amount on betting. He said that punters will get '2 lakh for '1 lakh betting amount. Hence, the people who earlier put money on the victory of TRS are now betting on the victory of Prajakutami after the announcement of Rajagopal’s exit poll results. He mentioned that further, AP people have been betting on the results of Kukatpally and Kodangal seats where Nandamuri Suhasini and A. Revanth Reddy contested in the elections.
Meanwhile, TD leaders, including MLAs, who camped in Kukatpally and other constituencies of Telangana are hopeful of TD winning in all 13 Assembly seats. TD leaders, K. Kala Venkata Rao, N. Rammohan Naidu, Kesineni Srinivas, K. Subba Rayudu, B. Veda Vyas, Yarapathineni Srinivas Rao, B. Umamaheswara Rao, Gottipati Ravi Kumar, Beeda Ravichandra Yadav, Prabhakar Chowdary, Jupudi Prabhakar Rao, Mohammad Hidayath, S.K. Lal Vazir and others camped in various Assembly constituencies dominated by Andhra settlers in Telangana and their hopes of the Congress and TD’s victory increased with Rajagopal’s exit poll results. The TD leaders have been contacting TD and Prajakutami leaders to know the pulse of voters in various constituencies and are eagerly waiting for the results which would be announced on December 11.
