State misusing Central share, alleges Purandeswari

Purandeswari Claims Diversion of Central Funds Meant for Rural Employment, Criticizes Unfulfilled Farmer Support Fund Promise

Kurnool: State BJP president D. Purandeswari has accused the state government of misusing Central funds. She said that the state government is claiming the central share of Rythu Bharosa funds as its own share.

Addressing the media at Kodumuru on Wednesday, Purandeswari said that the state government has failed to provide minimum facilities in the Silver Jubilee and triple IT colleges despite receiving Rs. 720 crore from the Centre. She questioned the state government about the work that has been done out of the amount sanctioned by the Centre.

Purandeswari also alleged that the state government has diverted funds released by the Centre under the Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme. She pointed out that Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy had promised during the elections to set up a fund to support farmers, but no such effort has been made.

She also criticised the state for not effectively using funds being released every year for the development of backward areas.

Purandeswari accused the state government of failing to improve irrigation and drinking water projects in the district.
