Warangal: Panchayat Raj minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao was known as ‘dealer Dayakar’ when he had a ration shop. Now he is called ‘dollar Dayakar,’ a reference to his wealth. He must explain to the people how he had come to own so many acres of land and deposit dollars in the US, TPCC president A. Revanth Reddy asked on Thursday.
He was addressing an election campaign meeting in support of Congress candidate M. Yashaswini Reddy in Palakurthy Assembly segment of Jangaon district on Thursday.
Revanth Reddy said that Palakurthy was well-known for its tales of valour. He said that the huge turnout indicated that Palakurthy people were set to break the ‘Gadila palana’ and the sway of landlords.
He came down heavily against Dayakar Rao, the BRS candidate, who, he alleged was involved in several irregularities, When Jhansi Reddy and her family, who are into social service, gave 80 acres of land for construction of colleges and hospitals, Dayakar Rao created problems for them and betrayed the locals for his own selfish gains, the Congress leader alleged.
“When we were in the Telugu Desam, Dayakar Rao joined hands with political opponents, hatched a conspiracy with them and sent me to jail,” Reddy said.
People had decided to drive away this landlord (Dayakar Rao) from Palakurthy and the bigger landlord (K. Chandrasekhar Rao), he said.
Revanth Reddy challenged Chandrasekhar Rao to prove where he was supplying 24 hours of power in the state. If he failed to do so, then he must rub his nose to the ground at Ekashila park in Hanamkonda, he said.
‘KCR is accusing me of selling Congress tickets, but it is he who sold MP tickets in the 2009 general elections and also Rajya Sabha seats later apart from Kokapet land in Hyderabad” he alleged.
Deriving inspiration from Chakali Ilamma, the people of Palakurthy must elect Yashaswini Reddy as the best way to teach Dayakar Rao a befitting lesson, he appealed.
