Hyderabad: TJS president Prof. M. Kodandaram said the Congress had given them eight seats against its request for 12. These eight seats should be the ones that the TJS wanted, and not those the Congress wished to hand out. The TJS was allotted Jangaon, Malkajgiri, Medak, Dubbaka, Wardhannapet, Mahbubnagar, Siddipet, Dubbaka and Ramagundam.

The CPI was allotted three seats — Wyra, Husnabad and Bellampalli. Telangana CPI secretary Chada Venkata Reddy said they have asked for at least five, and the CPI state executive committee would meet on Friday and take a decision. Meanwhile, Prof. Kodandaram and Mr Venkat Reddy have changed their minds and may contest the elections, the TJS chief from Jangaon and the CPI leader from Husnabad.
