No Tipu Jayanti if we get power, says BS Yeddyurappa
Bengaluru: BJP state President B.S.Yeddyurappa announced that once his party comes to power, it will stop celebration of Tipu Jayanti and impose a ban on organizations like KFD and PFI.
Speaking at a protest rally here on Tuesday, Mr. Yeddyurappa said that within 24 hours of the party coming to power in Karnataka, it will stop celebrating Tipu Jayanti and ban ‘fundamentalist’ Muslim organizations.
“Celebrating Tipu Jayanti is a crime committed by the state government. To cover-up its misdeeds and maladministration, the Siddaramaiah government has decided to celebrate Tipu Jayanti. Fundamentalist organizations are directly involved in the killing of RSS and BJP workers in the state. The government should immediately ban these organizations,” Mr Yeddyurappa urged.
The state BJP has sought an appointment with Union Home Minister Rajanath Singh and will submit a detailed memorandum to him explaining the collapse of law and order in the state in recent months.
The party has also decided to organize mass protest rallies on the day Tipu Jayanthi is celebrated, in district and taluk centres, Mr Yeddyurappa said.
Senior BJP leaders R. Ashok, Katta Subramanya Naidu, Shobha Karandlaje, Aravinda Limbavali and party MLAs were present at the protest rally.
