Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah culprit, thunders V Srinivas Prasad
Mysuru: Without disclosing his future political moves, former minister Mr V. Srinivas Prasad on Tuesday blamed Chief Minister Siddaramaiah for his quitting from the MLA post and the Congress party.
Addressing the “Swabhimani Samavesha”, at Vidyavardaka grounds in Nanjangud on Tuesday, the prominent Dalit leader of old Mysuru region turned emotional at the sight of over 15,000 supporters, well wishers and fans at the convention and apologised to them for resigning as MLA before completing the term, “I had to resign due to inevitable reasons. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has caused an unforgettable, deep pain at the fag end of my 45 year-long career. I am here to share my pain and my reasons for quitting. I was removed as a result of a political conspiracy and for selfish reasons. They have insulted me personally. I had told them that I was not a candidate for the Chief Minister’s post. I am one of those who wanted Siddaramaiah to be Chief Minister. He never sought my suggestions in three years. I have never spoken a word against him in three years. I am a five term MP and two term MLA. Fear is not in my dictionary, I have always strived for social harmony, I believe that politics is all about social commitment and human relationships. I wanted to retire with self respect, I had told them that I would not contest elections, but remain in active politics and utilise my vast experience for the Congress. But I cannot remain where my self respect has been hurt. I will contest the coming by-election. I will hold another convention on Nov. 18 in Chamarajnagar and decide which party to join after that, ” he said.
