Guv’s office has become a political zone: Kavitha

MLC K. Kavitha described the Governor\'s statements as a follow-up of failed ‘smear campaigns’ by the BJP

Hyderabad: Reacting sharply to Governor Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan saying earlier in the day that she was not respected by a non-responsive government, MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha on Thursday described her statements as a follow-up of failed ‘smear campaigns’ by the BJP.

In a tweet, she said that the Governor was determined to defame the state government and the Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao.

“The office of the Governor of Telangana has turned into a political stage that is determined to defame the TRS government and CM KCR garu. The statements of Hon’ble Governor come at a time when they realised that BJP driven smear campaigns can’t con the people of Telangana, (sic),” she tweeted.

Women and child welfare minister Satyavathi Rathod alleged that the Governor was behaving like a BJP spokesperson.

It does not befit her position to behave like a Union minister or a BJP representative, while holding the top post, she said.

Panchayat Raj minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao said that the Governor was belittling a constitutional post. “She is intentionally speaking against government hospitals, although they are the best in the country,” Rao said.
