Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao will introduce the Budget for the 2019-20 financial year in the Assembly on Monday while Mr T. Harish Rao, sworn-in on Sunday and given the finance portfolio, will present it in the Legislative Council.

Sources disclosed that the Chief Minister told the Cabinet that the estimates were prepared keeping in view the actual situation in the wake of the economic slowdown in the country.

Sources revealed that Mr Chandrasekhar Rao said that the economic slowdown will impact the gross state domestic product (GSDP) but while preparing the Budget the officers were asked to ensure balance while allocating the budget for welfare and development activities.

The Cabinet also said to have discussed the new Revenue Act and the amendments to the new Municipal Act in view of then Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan’s objections to certain provisions.
