Pawan Kalyan's Jana Sena to turn its heat on TD-BJP

Pawan's Sena to launch stir against several issues plaguing Vizag city.

Visakhapatnam: The state government may come under fire from an unexpected quarter — not the Opposition YSRC but Pawan Kalyan’s Jana Sena which lent its support to TD-BJP combine during the last general elections.

Stung by criticism that government is doing little on various issues that are plaguing Vizag like pollution, alleged misappropriation of Hudhud funds, Jana Sena workers drawn from 72 wards of GVMC held a low profile meeting and decided to launch a stir as the polls for urban bodies are expected to be held in the coming months.

The move by Jana Sena is also seen as an attempt to drift away from ruling parties that are facing anti-incumbency.

Jana Sena workers are preparing ward-wise issues and problems and chalking out a phase wise action plan on the best way to bring pressure on the authorities.

They are also preparing a detailed report to Pawan Kalyan and to seek his guidance on future course of action.

Majority who took part in the meeting expressed their opinion to part ways with TD as they are facing public wrath on the ground due to inefficiency of the government on tackling various issues especially to check pollution in the city caused by iron ore and coal handling at Vizag port.

“There is tremendous pressure on us since we supported both TD and BJP in the last elections. If we do not question now it will become case of our credibility. Pollution is one major issue which is bothering Vizag. No politician or official is serious about controlling it. The dust pollution caused due to Vizag port is creating havoc in One Town area and it has now spread almost to Hanumanthawaka junction. Everybody will be forced to leave the core city area and shift base to the outskirts if the situation continues. Industrial pollution is also adding to the woes. Those who took part in the meeting had openly voiced their concerns. We are compiling a detailed report which will be sent to our chief Pawan Kalyan. We are trying to build a movement to make political leaders and officials accountable,” said a key member of Jana Sena Vizag unit who was instrumental in organising the low profile meting recently.

With the given indications it is going to be a tough time to the ruling parties due to Jana Sena in the forthcoming GVMC polls which is seen as a referendum for the two-year rule in the state.
