Mixed reactions on day two to KPCC meet
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: On the second day of the meeting with Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi, KPCC general secretaries and a couple of senior Youth Congress leaders gave a mixed reaction on organisational restructuring. Congress leaders felt that if elections are held, then factionalism will rule the roost.
Meanwhile senior youth congress leaders M. Liju and Mathew Kuzhalnaadan met Mr. Gandhi under the provision of them being former national leaders. Liju informed him that it is ideal to hold elections from booth level. He lamented that there has been dearth of local level leaders to work in booth and mandalam levels.
“If the party is not restructured right from booth level to the PCC level, Congress will not be able to return to power”, said Liju who was the former national Youth Congress general secretary. Both Sudheeran and Antony are expected to return to Thiruvanantha-puram on Saturday evening.
