Uttar Pradesh: Ally asks BJP to give all castes a shot at CM post

He said the SBSP adopt this formula and give the chief ministerial post to various caste groups if it comes to power.

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh minister and president of the Suheldev Bhartiya Samaj Party (SBSP) Om Prakash Rajbhar is back again with another controversial suggestion.

Mr Rajbhar has said caste politics is a ground reality that no one can deny and hence it would be better if all caste groups get a chance to have their representative as head of the government.

He said that the BJP should change chief ministers every six months and give a chance of major caste groups to have their representative as chief minister.

“The BJP has already experimented with a six- monthly chief minister in 1997 when BJP-BSP formed a coalition government. There should be no problem in this and every caste will feel appeased,” he told reporters in Allahabad. “The BJP can thus reach out to 10 caste groups with 10 chief ministers in five years.”He said the SBSP adopt this formula and give the chief ministerial post to various caste groups if it comes to power.
