Contempt petition against KCR: Uttam Kumar Reddy
Hyderabad: The Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president, Mr N. Uttam Kumar Reddy, said after the CLP meeting that the TPCC will file a contempt petition against Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao in court for not implementing the High Court orders revoking the expulsion of Congress MLAs from the Assembly.
He alleged that Mr Rao is behaving like a dictator and not implementing the court orders and has no moral right to co-ntinue as Chief Minister when he has no respect for a High Court judgment.
The TPCC chief said he will complain to the Governor on June 11 about the fascist attitude of the state government and on the same day meet the Chief Secretary too.
He will also complain to the President of India Ram Nath Kovind about the undemocratic attitude of the state government.
The TPCC president sa-id that the TS Assembly Speaker S. Madhusudana Chary has given an appointment on June 11 for CLP leader K. Jana Reddy where discussions on restoring the membership of the two expelled Congress MLAs will figure.
No en masse resignations of Congress MLAs
Telangana Congress MLAs protesting against the state government's non implementation of a High Court order to reinstate two expelled MLAs, have ruled out en masse resignations of their MLAs.
In the Congress Legisl-ature Party meeting held on Friday, when this issue came up for discussion, the expelled MLA S.A. Sampath Kumar said there is no need for en masse resignations. He said when there is no chance of a bypoll there is no use of resignations.
The other expelled MLA, Komatireddy Venkata Reddy, who had proposed en masse resignations, accepted Mr Kumar's argument.
The CLP has decided to meet the Assembly Speaker, the state government’s Chief Secretary and President of India on the expelled MLAs’ issue. But CLP leader K. Jana Reddy said after the meeting that the resignation of the Congress MLAs had not come up for discussion in the meeting.
The CLP meeting was held at Mr Jana Reddy’s residence. Telangana Pr-adesh Congress Comm-ittee (TPCC) chief and MLA N. Uttam Kumar Reddy were also present.
