N Chandrababu Naidu lashes out at YS Jagan Mohan Reddy
Anantapur: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu made a scathing attack on leader of the opposition Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy's call to people to demonstrate with slippers.
Reacting to the allegations by Opposition parties that he does not dare mount pressure on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Telangana Chief Minister, K. Chandrasekhar Rao due to fear, Mr Naidu said he would never fear anybody except the people of the state.
“I am neither a criminal nor prison-returned and there is no need to bend for black mailers,” he said.
Addressing the concluding session of Maha Sankalpa Deeksha in Kadapa, Mr Naidu said that the Congress had cheated AP through unscientific method of state division.
The state was struggling for developmental activities including new state capital.
Mr Naidu made it clear that he has been making efforts to convince the Centre to accord special category status along with special packages for development.
The deeksha in the home turf of Mr Reddy went off peacefully. The town was under a security blanket in the backdrop tensions between the two parties.
