Hyderabad: Congress MLA Jagga Reddy on Wednesday said that TPCC campaign committee chairperson and yesteryears actor Vijayashanthi has good following in the public and she could become TPCC chief.
Speaking to media persons, Mr Jagga Reddy said the Congress high command should utilise the services of Vijayashanthi in the southern states.
He said Vijayashanthi still has craze among the people as an actress and this will help to the Congress. He said if she can spare some more time for the party she will have bright political future.
Reacting on this, Vijaya-shanthi said that Mr Jagga Reddy’s statement is creating confusion in the minds of public.
Vijayashanti, who was one of the popular film stars, had joined the Congress after working for Telangana agitation.
Mr Jagga Reddy, however, refused to react on Vijayashanthi remarks on his statement.
On Tuesday, Mr Jagga Reddy said that the Congress would form the government at the Centre after the Lok Sabha elections and Telangana Chief Minister K Chandra-sekhar Rao, AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and YSR Congress chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy would play a key role in this.
