Opposition blaming Election Commission due to fear of defeat, says EPS

The MoUs were signed at GIM so as to create 10.5 lakh new jobs in the state.

THOOTHUKUDI: The Opposition parties, especially the DMK, are in search of reasons to ascribe to their defeat after May 23, and hence have started blaming the Election Commission of India in advance," said the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, Edappadi K. Palaniswami at the airport here, on Wednesday.

Responding to DMK Rajya Sabha member, MK Kanimozhi, blaming the Election Commission of India of being partial towards the ruling parties, the BJP at the Centre and the AIADMK in the state, chief minister Edappadi K Palaniswami expressed full confidence in the integrity of the ECI, and pointed out the action taken by the EC even against ruling party candidates.

"The Opposition parties, however, has started blaming the ECI as they are in search of a reason to ascribe to their defeat after May 23," added Edappadi Palanisamy, who too was hopeful of sweeping all the 22 assembly constituencies, and to further strengthen his government to complete its full term till 2021.

"The DMK president, M K Stalin on the other hand, also cannot dream of becoming the chief minister of the state after May 23," said Edappadi Palaniswami.

Further, reacting to the AMMK propaganda secretary, Thanga Tamilselvan's statement that they would topple the AIADMK government with the help of the DMK, the Chief Minister said that the hidden relationship between TTV Dhinakaran and MK Stalin, that he had been complaining for so long, has come to light through the words of Thanga Tamil selvan.

Stating that students from Tamil Nadu are getting admissions in universities outside the state based on merit, Edappadi K Palaniswami said that the 10 new industries signed MoU among the 304 investors during the global investors' meet to be launched this June. The MoUs were signed at GIM so as to create 10.5 lakh new jobs in the state.
