KC Venugopal gives full marks to Siddaramaiah, slams party detractors
Venugopal said the team from Delhi was here to assist state leaders and not advise them.

Bengaluru: Giving full marks to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, AICC general secretary K.C. Venugopal, who arrived here on Monday, observed in reply to a query from reporters, that no ruling party could win byelections if it did not launch pro-people schemes.
“We just need to ensure that every scheme is advertised properly, especially through word of mouth, to create a wave in favour of the ruling party,” he added.
The AICC general secretary’s visit comes at a time when many seniors like former MP, A.H. Vishwanath are rumoured to be readying to leave the party and the PCC leadership is on the brink of change. Mr Venugopal, however, said the team from Delhi was here to assist state leaders and not advise them. While admitting there were differences in the state Congress, which needed to be sorted out, he said, " I am not saying that all is well in our party. Certainly it is not. This is true of not just Karnataka or the Congress party alone. It is the same everywhere. So I admit that we have some problems which need be fixed and I hope we will fix them well before facing the 2018 Assembly polls.”
Lashing out at the Congress detractors, he observed that whenever the Congress party was in a crisis, it was Karnataka which had given it rebirth and he believed the party's revival would start in 2018 from the state.
