Kerala polls: PM claims Congress and CPM are in sync' over corruption
Thiruvananthapuram: Prime Minister Narendra Modi who was on a whirlwind tour of the state campaigning for National Democratic Alliance (NDA) candidates for the Assembly polls on Sunday promised sleepless nights to Congress leaders including party president Sonia Gandhi and senior leader A.K. Antony in the Agusta-Westland scandal.
Speaking at a public rally in Thiruvananthapuram, the Prime Minister said those who paid the bribe in the deal have been nabbed and what needs to be seen is when those who got the commission would be exposed.
Mr Modi who had kept mum on the chopper scam during his earlier meetings at Kasaragod and Kuttanad took a dig at Mr A.K. Antony, too.
“Today, Congress leaders including A.K. Antony are very happy over my silence on the scam in the earlier meetings,” he said.
“I wish to tell the Congress leaders that you can sleep during day time and stay awake during night.”
The country wants to know how many crores have been amassed by the Congress leaders, Mr Modi said.
“They are getting panicky whenever a chopper’s noise is heard.”
In his meetings, the Prime Minister attacked the LDF and the UDF on charges of violence and corruption and sought votes for NDA which has “development as its single focus”.
