Bandi lodges compliant with Karimnagar police over his missing phone

WARANGAL: The ongoing political row between the BRS and the BJP over the SSC Hindi question paper leak case has taken a new turn on Sunday when BJP state president Bandi Sanjay Kumar filed a complaint against Karimnagar Two Town police, alleging that he had lost his mobile phone when they detained him on Tuesday night.

While the police insisted that Sanjay had hidden his phone after the question paper leak and had refused to hand it over to the investigating officers despite being asked to do so, Sanjay filed an online complaint on Sunday appealing to the police officials to find his phone because it contained contact information of important persons.

Sanjay claimed in his complaint that on the intervening night of April 4 and 5, while being transported from Karimnagar town to Bommalaramaram police station, he realised that he had lost his cell phone with the number 768*****00 and informed the police when he was being transported to the Hanamkonda court in a police van.

He stated in his complaint that he was using his sister's SIM card for security purposes. He claimed that he apprised law enforcement officials during his detention at the Kamalapur police station, and that he also informed his advocates about the loss of his mobile phone, who in turn brought the issue to the attention of the Hanamkonda court magistrate during bail arguments.

In his complaint, Sanjay added that when police officers arrested him, the phone was with him but it went missing while he was being taken from Rachakonda to Hanamkonda, and he sought an investigation to be conducted to recover his mobile phone.
