Focus must be on state, feels TRS

Added to this were the intelligence reports indicating that the TRS is not in a comfortable situation in the state.

Hyderabad: Adverse intelligence reports on the political hea-lth of the TRS in the state has forced party chief and CM K. Chandrasekhar Rao to put his Federal Front plan in cold storage for now.

“It was decided not to invite any national leader from any party for the TRS plenary on April 27. The CM said that the focus will now be only on state politics till the 2019 elections and any initiative on Federal Front could be thought of later,” party sources said.

What dashed the hopes of the CM on his Federal Front, according to party sources, was the entire Opposition, including the TD, rallying behind the Congress and holding dharna in Parliament premises three days ago by forming a human chain against the BJP-led NDA government.

Mr Rao felt that it would not be possible for him to unite all opposition parties in the country minus the Congress in the short span of time left before the 2019 polls.

Added to this were the intelligence reports indicating that the TRS is not in a comfortable situation in the state.

The TRS leadership feels that they would become na ghar ke, na ghaat ke if the focus is shifted to national politics at this stage and it is better to set their own house in order first.
