Bengaluru: It will be state BJP President B.S. Yeddyurappa's day out on Monday when he is scheduled to interact with a cross section of society ahead of the May 12 Assembly polls.
Disclosing this to reporters here on Sunday, state BJP General Secretary and MP Shobha Karandlaje said he would start with a ‘Walk the talk’ at Sankey Tank Bund at 7 am. "While walking, he will interact with walkers about the forthcoming elections and try to get an insight into the thinking of people. A similar exercise is also planned in Cubbon Park and Lalbagh too".
Later, Mr Yeddyurappa will travel in an autorickshaw from his Dollars Colony residence to Shivajinagar and interact with drivers and vehicle owners to study their problems and seek suggestions to solve them. The idea was to send a message to all autorickshaw drivers that the BJP will stand by them.
She said the CM candidate would also visit Hosakote in the afternoon where he would interact with milk producers and also visit a milk plant. It was Mr Yeddyurappa as CM who gave an incentive of Rs 2 per litre of milk which helped improve the rural economy and the condition of women.
Coming down heavily on Congress President Rahul Gandhi, she slammed him for not speaking on the drinking water needs of people of Kolar and Chikballapura districts where he went on a tour on Saturday. The Congress government had promised to complete Yettinahole project for which big pipes had been procured. These pipes were lying unused in different parts of the ghat section near Sakleshpur. No work had been done. This was a great betrayal, she remarked.
Ms Karandlaje also slammed Chief Minister Siddaramaiah for not withdrawing cases filed against farmers who had been struggling for a permanent solution pertaining to irrigation projects. However, the government was quick to withdraw cases filed against minorities which exposes the ‘vote-bank politics’ of the Congress, she said.
