BRS MLCs lodge complaint against Revanth for Pragathi Bhavan comments

HYDERABAD: The comments made by TPCC president and MP A. Revanth Reddy that there would be no harm if the Maoists blew up the Pragathi Bhavan have stirred up a storm, leading BRS MLCs to file a complaint with DGP Anjani Kumar against the Congress leader, demanding stringent action for his extreme views.

Revanth claimed on the second day of his Haath Se Haath Jodo yatra on Tuesday in the Mulugu district that the Pragathi Bhavan served no purpose for the common people because they couldn't lodge complaints at the chief minister's official residence, and that it wouldn't cause any harm if the Maoists blew up the building. BRS MLCs led by Palla Rajeshwar Reddy, in their complaint to the DGP, stated that such comments from a people’s representative in the CM’s office should be treated with utmost seriousness. The BRS leaders urged the DGP to examine Revanth’s speech and take immediate action against him, as per the law.

In Warangal, BRS Mulugu mandal president Badam Praveen lodged a complaint in the Mulugu police station against Revanth. Several party leaders burnt Revanth’s effigy and staged a dharna demanding that the police take action against the Congress leader. Speaking to the media, Praveen said, “How can he make such inciting statements? How can he appeal to the banned Maoists to blow up Pragathi Bhavan? These statements are anti-national, and strict action should be taken.” The police should register a case against Revanth and Mulugu MLA Seethakka who supported his comments, he said.
