Better if K T Rama Rao focuses on his ministry: Dr K Laxman

Dr Laxman said it was heartening to know IT minister Mr KTR had decided to meet Central ministers in Delhi to seek more funds and projects

HYDERABAD: BJP Telangana state president Dr K. Laxman on Thursday said that though the Central government has been releasing funds under 23 heads to Telangana state, the TRS government has failed miserably to provide utilisation certificates. The state government had also failed in its duty to provide matching funds for the Railway and other projects.

Addressing a media conference on Thursday evening, Dr Laxman said though South Central Railway officials are ready to take up various project works, the state government is not releasing the matching funds that they had promised.

Dr Laxman said it was heartening to know IT minister Mr K.T. Rama Rao had decided to meet Central ministers in Delhi to seek more funds and projects, but at the state level, the minister was not giving appointments to ministers and legislators to represent people’s issues. He said it would be better for Mr Rama Rao if he had to concentrate on his ministerial responsibilities before criticising the Central Budget and its programmes.

Mr Laxman asked the IT and municipal administration minister that if '1 lakh could be rewarded to whoever finds a pothole in the city as promised by the minister, the entire state Budget would not be sufficient for the rewards as the entire city was full of potholes. He added that the CM was sitting on the project of road repairs and road relays.

Dr Laxman said that Mr Rama Rao’s barbs of the BJP not gaining ground in the next elections were childish. He added that it was the TRS that had encouraged defections and impr-oved their tally from a simple majority to two-third majority whereas the BJP at the national level came to power on its own strength.

Refuting the CM’s accusation that Mr Bandaru Dattatreya was removed from the Central Cabin-et, Dr Laxman said that so far the CM had not gi-ven any reason as to why he removed Dalit Deputy Chief Minister Dr S. Rajaiah from the post.
