BENGALURU: BBMP commissioner G Kumar Nair, who is also the district election commissioner, on Monday announced measures taken to implement the code of conduct and for free and fair conduct of election in Hebbal Assembly constituency on February 13.

He told the media there that the code of conduct would be in force until February 18 but no complaints or incidents of violation of code of conduct were reported so far. About eight squads have been formed to implement the code of conduct and initiate action.

These squads would also check any kind of inducement offered by contestants or political parties. In case people in the constituency notice violation of code of conduct, they could use helplines 080 22374740 and 080 22224748.

He said 237 polling stations would be set up of which 71 are hyper sensitive and 85 are sensitive polling stations.

Apart from adequate security arrangements, central para military forces have been sought. Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) will be used. 237 control units and 474 ballet units have been procured. Officials will be trained to use EVMs.
