BJP to step up stir against GO 317, says Laxman
Hyderabad: BJP’s OBC Morcha president Dr K. Laxman welcomed the Supreme Court’s decision to uphold the validity of 27 per cent OBC quota and 10 per cent for economically weaker section (EWS) students in NEET-PG and NEET-UG admissions to medical colleges.
Speaking to reporters here on Saturday, he vowed to continue the fight against the TRS in a phased manner. Accusing the state government for its inhumane attitude towards teachers and government employees with respect to transfers, he said the contentious GO 317 must either be amended to benefit the employees or it should be withdrawn. The BJP shall fight till its logical end, Dr Laxman said.
The GO has claimed the lives of two teachers already, he said. The number of vacancies in the state are not clearly ascertained even though the Biswal committee estimated that the figure could be around 1,92,000.
Meanwhile, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Saram will be participating in a party event being held in Warangal on Sunday, he said. Former chief minister of Maharashtra Devendra Fadnavis will join the stir at Mahbubnagar the next day.
