Telangana: Ruckus in House after BJP MLA pulls mike of Congress legislator
Hyderabad: BJP legislator C. Ramachandra Reddy on Tuesday pulled the mike of Congress legislator T. Jeevan Reddy amid a ruckus in the Assembly.
The incident occurred when BJP legislators were demanding that Speaker Madhusudana Chary take up their adjournment motion on the arrest of BJYM workers who were on a Chalo Assembly protest demanding jobs.
The Speaker said the Question Hour would be taken first, to which the BJP objected. In the melee, Mr Ramachandra Reddy pulled Mr Jeevan Reddy’s mike when he was asking supplementary questions on minimum support price.
Mr Chary and IT minister K.T. Rama Rao objected to the BJP leader’s behaviour. Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao who entered the House at the time asked the BJP members not to disrupt the proceedings. He said the government was ready to discuss any issue if the Speaker allowed it. After protests, BJP members walked out.
MIM floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi asked why no apology was demanded from the BJP. He asked why the government was afraid of the BJP. He also accused Mr Jeevan Reddy of encouraging Mr Ramachandra Reddy to break the mike.
Mr Chandrasekhar Rao said the issue would be discussed in the business advisory meeting.
